Obituary of Robert Willis Walters
CLIFTON PARK -
Robert Willis Walters, 69, of Clifton Park, formerly of Troy, entered into rest on November 11, 2022, in Loris, South Carolina at the home of his son.
The son of Geraldine Ray, Robert was born on July 7, 1953, in Troy, New York.
Robert was raised and educated in Troy and has lived several places throughout his life as a "Happy Wonderer" including Troy, Clifton Park and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Bob was a professional finisher for many years. He worked both for himself and many companies throughout the years. Mr. Walters was an M. P. (Military Police) in the United States Army. He served from 1972-1974 and received an honorable discharge for his military service.
Bob (or Papi) will be warmly remembered for being funny, smart, and very generous to everyone. If what they say is true, we are measured and put here on this earth to help people, then Bob would have been the very definition of a loving, caring person. He would also put others' needs ahead of his own.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Walters whom he married in Troy, New York.
His children: Troy Robert Walters (Viclunuska Umpierre) and Miranda Walters (Mother: Denise Bishop).
Bob was "Papi" to his grandchildren: Cole Walters, Troy Walters, Jr., Bethabay Rivera, Bayly Dixon and Adsila Ryder.
He is also survived by his siblings: Kevin Ray and Patricia Messen.
Bob was predeceased by his twin sister Judy (Mickey) Walters, his brother Gary Ray, and also John Dixon who he considered his son.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 4-6PM on Friday, December 9th in The Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue, Troy, NY 12180. Sharing of Memories and Military Honors will commence at 6PM concluding the calling hours in the funeral home.
