Obituary of Patricia A. McQuade

TEMPLE, TX - Patricia A. McQuade, 87, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Troy, New York, entered into rest on August 19, 2022. The daughter of the late Ernest Gardner, Patricia was born on March 18, 1935, in Averill Park, New York. She was raised in Averill Park and received her education from Averill Park Schools. Patricia was a waitress at Troy Club and Time Out. She owned and operated a restaurant called Hamburger Haven in Lansingburgh. She founded a youth group called Sycawick Youth Center. Patricia was known to many in and around Lansingburgh as "Aunt Pat", babysitting for the last 40 years. She loved all her kids as she called them. Patricia will be warmly remembered for her love of her family and "kids" and selflessness to help others. Aunt Pat also enjoyed reading, gardening, and decorating for the holidays. Survivors Include her sons Edward (Sandy) McQuade, Chris (Martha) McQuade, her daughter Cathleen Gillespie, her grandchildren: Donna, Edward, Katie, Ernest, Kelly, Christy, Christopher, and Patricia along with 15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by one sister Diane Gardner and one brother Greg Gardner. Besides her father, Patricia was predeceased by her husband Earl McQuade and her son Michael McQuade. The Family would like to thank Trinity Baptist Church of Niskayuna for providing pastoral services, and Riverview Funeral Home for their guidance and compassion. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 1st at 12 noon from the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Lansingburgh. Relatives and Friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 10AM until 12PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in the Gerald B.H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
