Obituary of Steven Paul Cummings
TROY-
On November 23, 2021 the cantankerous beloved Steven P Cummings left this world without pain or regret.
Steven was a passionate man with a quick wit and robust laugh.
He was very proud of his years of naval service from May 1968 until September 1981 and loved to share stories of his world adventures.
During this time, he studied to become a naval corpsman as well as a lab technician.
Steven was predeceased by his parents, Edith (Peggy) Bushee and Elvia (Buss) Cummings.
Additionally, he was the eldest of five sisters and had the scars to prove it!
Marretta Lane (George)-Pleasantdale; Carol Garrett (Eddie)-Odessa Tx; Penny Bashford (William)-Troy; Betsey Mikula (Frank)-Daytona Fl; and Laura Hull (Charles)-Troy; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Moreover, we'd be remiss if we didn't give a shout out to his best friend Mike Klingseis, whom helped to give Steven perspective and support throughout his life.
Steven often preferred felines to humans and two of his favorites were Rebecca and Pita.
Ironically, Pita passed just days before he did, we're confident they're both sitting on his lap as we speak.
Over the course of his adult life, he developed into quite the Renaissance man.
He enjoyed cooking and baking, his holiday brownies were legendary.
He had great taste in music and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially football, NASCAR, and MMA.
He loved to read and watch documentaries, being introduced to new ideas excited him.
Oh, and an accomplished collector of thingsmanymany things
But mostly, he will be missed and forever live on in our hearts and minds.
Steven did not want a viewing.
Family and friends may join wherein he will be honored and laid to rest at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871, on April 22, 2022 at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers or donations, take a moment to breath..smile..be grateful..enjoy your life and the beauty within.
