Obituary of Margaret Ordansky
KINGSTON, NY-
Margaret Ordansky, age 68, of Kingston, New York, passed away on August 13, 2021.
Born June 23, 1953 in Natchez, Mississippi, to parents Jean and Charlie Hightower, Margaret spent her childhood in Greenwich, Connecticut and Mobile, Alabama. An accomplished scholar, she graduated from the University of Alabama and eventually received her PhD in Microbiology from Stony Brook University. In 1983, she married Jerold Ordansky. After working at the Rockefeller Institute, she went on to teach the Biology department at SUNY-Ulster. As a professor, Margaret impacted the lives of many students, helping to educate countless nurses, veterinary technicians, and other professionals throughout Ulster County for nearly 30 years. Her family will remember her as strong, independent, compassionate, and willing to do anything for her loved ones. Margaret is survived by sons Nathan (wife Kate) and Jesse (wife Andra); sister Suzanne Wilkinson (husband Kent) and brothers James (wife Jennifer) and Tommy (wife Martha Rose).

We will be gathering on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the SUNY Ulster Campus at 491 Cottekill Rd, Stone Ridge NY, 12484 at 3:15pm. Short words of remembrance will be said by Margaret's sons, Nathan and Jesse. All are invited to share stories and memories.
