Obituary of Leonard V. Levensailor

On Feb 28th 2019 Leonard V. Levensailor of Troy, N.Y. peacfully passed into the arms of his Lord, Jesus Christ. Leonard was born May 10, 1951 at Sunset Nursing Home, Constableville, NY, to the late Charles and Helen (Bouregois) Levensailor. Survivors include his wife, Deborah E. Roberts Levensailor, his children: Cassie M. (Shawn) Smith, Leonard L. Levensailor. Step-son, Philip N.J [Megan] Simon, Adam P. Simon (Fiance Amber Smith), siblings: Pete (Phyliss) Levensailor, Deborah (Robert) Millard, Sharon (Jeff) McDougal, Arnold (Kathy) Levensailor, and Randy Levensailor. Grandfather to Garrett Smith, Chandelle Smith, Steven Simon, Alexander Simon, Brady Simon, Landon Simon and Bentley Smith. Leonard is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and good friends whom he would lend a helping hand or advise in times of need. He will truly be missed by all. Besides his parents, Leonard was predeceased by his son, James L. Levensailor. Leonard attended Port Leyden Elementary school and graduated from South Lewis High School in 1969. Leonard was a member of the Fall Brooke Hunting Club, The Powamppokonk Fish & Game Club, The Pleasantdale Rod & Gun Club and a past member of the Pleasantdale Fire Department. Leonard was an avid hunter and fisherman. Leonard started hunting at the age of 4 with his grandfather throughout Moose River Rd, Popple Pond and the surrounding areas. Leonard enjoyed helping family His first job was working in one of the last logging camps of the Adirondacks, trimming pine trees at the age of 12, while also attending school. Leonard was a heavy equipment operator, a tractor trailer driver, a produce seller, he worked at Ethan Allen, AMF Baillie Lumber, a restaurant cook and most recently an associate at Walmart. In later years, for fun and to relax, Leonard would adventure out on walks throughout the Adirondacks that sometimes took 2-3 maybe 4 days, walking through nature and surviving in the wilderness. He truly loved Gods country. He could often be heard saying Daylight in the Swamps" meaning time to get up, your missing out on a beautiful sunrise. There will be no services. His family will have a gathering of remembrance and celebration in the spring.
