Obituary of David L. "Dave" Gardner

Troy, NY David L. Gardner, 67, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late James A. and Sadie Oliver Gardner, Dave was a lifelong Troy resident. He was a manager for Dunkin Donuts for over 20 years as well as a parking attendant for Albany Medical Center for 16 years. His last employment was as a security guard for OTB in Albany, retiring in 2013 due to illness. Dave was a member of the All Troy Athletic Club for most of his life and played with the softball league. He was also a former member of the Cohoes Moose Club. Dave was a die hard Green Bay Packers Fan for better or worse and most importantly a proud grandpa of three. He is survived by his wife, Karen E. Stafford Gardner; three children: Virginia M Gardner of Troy, Nancy J. Gardner of Guilderland and David L. Gardner, II (Nadine) of Hudson, FL, a brother, James O. Gardner of Troy, three adored grandchildren: Dalila M., Sadie M. and David L. Gardner, III. He is also survived by two nephews: James S. and Shane E. Gardner (Kelley) and great nieces: Alicia M., Katherine M. and Rebecca L. Gardner. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday morning at 11 oclock from the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2ndAvenue (corner of 104thSt.), Lansingburgh. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will take place in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy, NY.
