Obituary of John B. Russell

John B. Russell, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, he was 77 years old. Born and raised in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Omar and Florence Coyne Russell. John served his country proudly in the US Army and worked for Bendix in Green Island for over 30 years retiring in 1998. John enjoyed life; especially fishing, poker playing and being the affable jokester. He is dearly loved and will be sorely missed. He lost his beloved wife of 52 years, Maryellen Lashway Russell on March 3, 2016. John is survived by his two daughters: Tina (Richard) Reed of Grafton and Donnalee (Robert) Mero of Schaghticoke. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ashley and Seth Nadler and Kailyn Fourtin and great grandchildren: Shea and Carter Nadler and Greyson Fourtin. Funeral Services will be conducted from the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th St.) Lansingburgh on Monday morning, April 16th at 10 AM, with Fr. James R. Sidoti, O. Carm. officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, April 15th from 2 to 4 PM. Interment following the funeral service will take place at St. Peters Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue, Troy, NY with full military honors.
