Obituary of Mary Ellen Hill Mary Ellen Hill, 71, of Troy passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Born in Troy September 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Thomas James, Sr. and Ellen Audrey (VerSchneider) Bourke. Mary Ellen was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in nursing. Mary Ellen was employed as a registered nurse with St. Mary's Hospital many years. Mary Ellen enjoyed painting and crocheting but above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her family came first. Beloved wife of Theodore C. Hill, whom she married on September 15, 1973 at Our Lady of Victory Church, loving mother of Theodore C. (Shannon) Hill, III of Brunswick, Matthew T. (Kate) Hill of North Greenbush and Kristen M. (Jason) Driscoll of Latham. Cherished grandmother of three grandchildren. Favorite sister of Margaret Louise (Ronald) Fallow of Rhode Island, the late retired Troy Police Sgt. Thomas James Bourke, Jr., and the late John Edward Bourke. Also survived by several nieces and nephews A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, February 13th at St. Joseph's Church, corner of Jackson & 3rd Streets, Troy. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy on Monday February 12th evening from 4-7 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of the second floor of the Eddy Heritage House, and St. Mary's Hospital Cancer Treatment Center for their care and support during her illness.
