Obituary of Michael J. O'Neill

Michael J. ONeill, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2017 after a long illness. Born in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of the late Donald T. and Ann Hogan ONeill. Michael moved to the area in 1945 and had worked as a Draftsman for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady. Michael proudly served his country in the USMC. He was athletic in high school playing basketball and later in life became an avid golfer. His pastimes also included woodworking and genealogy. Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by two children, Maura and Michael ONeill. He is survived by a daughter Kathleen ONeill, a brother, Brian E. (Joanne) ONeill of Watervliet, NY, a sister Maureen Boskon of Phoenix, AZ, his beloved grandson, Michael McCarthy ONeill of Gansevoort, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. A service with full military honors will be conducted at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY on Friday morning, November 17th at 10 oclock. Those wishing to attend should be at the cemetery by 9:45am.
