I met Gary over 5 years ago, when we moved from Tampa, Florida to Stephentown. Holly had taken the position of Executive Director of the Palace Theatre in Albany. Gary brought us a load of firewood for the wood-burning stove in the house we rented. From the first glance I felt the feeling of a true friend. Gary and Ruth became our Best Friends very shortly after we moved here. Gary is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. His tireless energy is contagious with a smile as big as the mountains he loved where he and Ruthie lived. What I will miss the most is his humor, wit and love for everyone who gets to know Gary. His love for Ruth is as high as the highest mountain, and his love for his kids and grandchildren was evident every time he talked about his family. His love for the outdoors was evident every time he spoke of hunting, or cutting wood in the area around their house. A masterful painter and a true lover-of-life, it was easy to become best friends. Gary --- I will miss your energy and commitment to doing 'what is right versus what is wrong" about life. He truly loved his family. Gary -- you are missed right now and forever more. God broke the mold when he created Gary Casey. You are one-of-a-kind and I am honored to be your friend. Holly and I will make sure Ruthie has everything she needs to continue on with life, and will never be far away. As odd as this sounds ---- I am glad you found your way to heaven so you can end the suffering of the terrible disease that claimed your life. You suffer no more.......I know you're happy to be with your deceased children. I know you are laughing and playing with them. Go on Gary ---- BE AT PEACE----YOU ARE MISSED.
