Obituary of Martha Howd "Marty" Rustin

Rustin, Martha Moore Howd, 79, WATERFORD. Passed after a short illness to reunite with her husband, Joseph Rustin, Sr on September 15, 2017 after being apart for two years. Marty and Joe were married for 55 years. Marty was born Martha Moore Howd on 1/20/1938 to Dr. Helmer and Mary (Moore) Howd of Troy, NY and graduated from Buston School in Williamstown, MA. She was a loving mother to her children, Maryellen (Russell) Chamberlain of E Poestenkill, NY, Joseph Rustin, Jr of Provincetown, MA, David Rustin of Troy, NY, Karen Tanner of Waterford, NY and Eric (Melissa Wilkinson) Rustin of N Adams, MA. She was also a beloved grandmother to Kjelene and Evan Chamberlain of E Poestenkill, NY, Adam (Jacquelyn Ciferri) Chamberlain of Hyde Park, NY, Vincent Cramer of Latham, NY, Dante (Marika Maynard) Daigneault-Rustin, Sr and Tim Rustin of Waterford, NY as well as to her great-grandsons, Axel Chamberlain, Jayden Cleary-Cramer and Dante Daigneault-Rustin, Jr. She is also survived by her brother, Harvey (Patty) Howd of Schuylerville, NY and sisters, MaryElizabeth (Howard) Sambrook of Lake George, NY and Linda (Andy) Light of Cincinnati, OH. She will be deeply missed by her best friend of 65 years, Alice Fisk of Melrose, NY. Martha loved her family and delighted in spending time with them. She is a former employee of Flahs Distribution Center, Simmons Inc and retired from Computer Science Corporation. Family will receive relatives and friends at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Ave, Troy, NY on Tuesday, September 19th from 4 - 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11 oclock with Pastor Nicholas TeBordo, officiating. Martha will be interred at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY with her husband, immediately following the service at 1 PM.
