Obituary of Earl W. McQuade

Earl W. McQuade, 89 of 5th Avenue, Lansingburgh died at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, August 21, 2017. Born in Watervliet, NY, Earl was a lifelong resident of Lansingburgh. He served in the USMC and was part of the China Marines beginning in 1945. In 1949 he left the USMC joining the US Army were he served in Germany as part of the mission to unify the country. Earl was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a member of the China Marines Marine Corps Association and the VFW. He will be remembered as a great dad who doted over his family, worked very hard to support and provide for them as well as being a devoted husband to his wife of 54 years, Patricia A. Gardner McQuade. Earl is also survived by his children: Edward E. McQuade (Sandra) of Borger, TX, Chris (Martha) McQuade of Lansingburgh, and Cathleen Gillespie of Temple, TX. as well as two siblings: Ruth DeTraglia and William McQuade and many grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Michael E. McQuade. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 12 Noon from the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc. 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th St.) Lansingburgh. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery.
