Obituary of Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Miller

Mary Elizabeth Miller, age 100, was called to eternal life on Sunday, August 6, 2017 to be with her Savior and reunited with her loving husband Elwin David Miller. Betty was born in Troy, NY on May 29, 1917 (the same day as President John F. Kennedy) to the late Joseph F. Kuhn and Mary Selig Kuhn. She was a graduate of Lansingburg High School and a communicant of St. Augustines and St. Francis de Sales churches in Troy and St. Marys in Crescent. Betty is survived by her only son, Gary Elwin Miller (Mary Alice Stowell) of Jensen Beach, FL; grandsons: Kevin John Miller and Matthew David Miller of Atlanta, Georgia; two great grandchildren: Stella Grace Miller and Oli Elwin Miller of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her only sister Rita Kuhn Lawrence of Brunswick, NY and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers J. Edward Bud Kuhn (the late Dorothy Page) and Joseph F Kuhn (the late Helen Marie Day). Betty will always be remembered by family and friends for her infectious smile, positive attitude, friendly disposition, independence, loving nature and faith in God. She is now in heaven, a place she has prepared for all her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bettys name to The Community Hospice or a charity of your choice. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th St.), Troy, NY on Thursday, August 10, from 5 7 PM. A Mass to celebrate Bettys life will be held on Friday, August11 at 11 AM at St. Augustines Church, Fourth Avenue and 115th St, Troy.
