Obituary of Francis "Mike" Maloney

Wantagh, NY ~ Our beloved husband and father, Francis Edward "Mike" Maloney, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016. He fought till the end with dignity and courage. He was 85 years old. Francis, fondly remembered as "Mike", was born in Troy and raised in Speigletown, where he was a longtime resident. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served with the Military Police from 1949-1952. Mr. Maloney has over 60 years of service IBEW Local 236. He was a very devoted, loving husband to his wife Clara Frances (Gow) Maloney, whom he loved to the moon and back. His love for his children was so immense, he leaves behind 9 surviving children; David Michael Maloney, Melissa Maloney Fabrikant, Michelle Young, Kimberly Copp, Deb Dorfman, Sally Chiera, Michael Maloney, Tina Panichi, Maryellen Palmer. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, the late Daniel Maloney and the late Joey Maloney. Relatives and friends will be received from 4 - 7 p.m., on Friday, July 15th at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Lansingburgh. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 16th, at St. Edward the Confessor Parish, 569 Clifton Park Center Road in Clifton Park, where the mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 o'clock.
