Obituary of Daniel Wayne Morell, I

TROY Daniel W. Morell, I., 46, of Troy, passed away suddenly on May 28, 2016. Dan was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 22, 1969. He was the son of the late William E. Morell and his surviving mother, Irene Zawasky of St. Petersburgh, FL. Dan attended Lansingburgh High School and worked for Gardenway of Troy and later for Mohawk Paper Mill for many years. In addition to his mother, and stepmother, Joanne Messick, he is survived by his children; Daniel, Morgan and Marilyn, his brothers; Robert (Mike Madden) Morell, Bob (Sharon) Perreault, his sisters; Deborah (Bob) Saxby, and Dana (Wesley) Betts. Dan is also survived by several nieces and nephews, his aunt Diane Vierengel, his cousins; Frederick (Kerry) Vierengel and James (Valerie) Vierengel, and two very special people in his life, Carolyn Lane and Tammy Thomas. Dan loved to work with his Dad, as well as his son, both on cars and motors. He loved to help friends and family whenever he was called upon, or saw that they needed any kind of assistance. He will be sorely missed by all. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday (June 2) from 4 - 7 p.m., at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy. A funeral service will take place that same evening at the conclusion of the calling hours. Interment will take place in Florida at the convenience of the family.
