Obituary of Harold Thomas "Tommy" Allen

TROY - Harold Thomas Allen (Tommy, Tom & Gigga) 52, passed away suddenly on Saturday May 14, 2016. Tom was born in Troy, New York, was the son of the late Harold and Jane Allen. He was a construction worker most of his life and enjoyed listening to his loud music, riding his motorcycle and being the life of the party. Tom is survived by his former wife, Jeannette Allen; his two sisters, Donna (Greg) Yates and Melody (the Late John) Winters; three brothers; his two sons, Thomas and Nick Allen, two daughters, Colleen Bowers and Crystal Hall; nieces Melody (Chuck) Emery, Jamie (Deric Gouveia); nephews Greg (Megan Stangle) Yates, Bruce (Adrienne) Allen; great nephews Charlie and Danny Emery, Zachary Yates, great nieces Anna and Mya Gouveia; who could always make Gigga smile when days seemed tough. Tom is also survived by seven grandchildren, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Tom knew when days were gray; there were plenty of family and friends there to cheer him up. We would like to thank the staff and residents at Fawn Ridge for making him part of their family. In the short time he was there, he made so many friends and always had a story to share. Tom was quick with the comebacks and always had a joke to tell. He will be missed by many, and if you knew Tom, you knew that he always put the FU in Fun! The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, May 21 at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street); Troy, where a funeral service will be conducted 12 noon, followed by interment in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
