Obituary of Joyce F. Gordon
Troy, NY-
Joyce F. Gordon, 86, of Troy, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015.
She was born in Troy on June 16, 1929 to the late William and Winifred Roberts.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Robert R. Gordon, Sr.
Joyce, after raising her children, began working and retired from Capital District OTB.
Joyce raised 10 children in the Catholic faith, even though she did not become a Catholic until later in life.
She is survived by her children Robert (Patricia), William (Karen), Roselyn Panza (special friend Gus Gorman), Kathleen Snyder (William), Janice, Gary (Linda), Kevin (Kelly), John and Son-In-Law Donald Weber. She was predeceased by her son Bruce Gordon, her daughter Cecelia Weber and son-In-law Joseph T. Panza.
Joyce was happiest spending time with a baby on her lap and hosting weekly family spaghetti dinners.
She was also Nana to 14 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers William Roberts, David Roberts, Donald Roberts and Ronald Roberts.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 18th from 4pm until 8pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy.
The funeral will be at 11AM on Thursday, November 19th at St. Augustine's Church, 25 115th Street in Lansingburgh, where the mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of one's choice.
