Obituary of Barbara Marie MacDonald

Athens, NY- Barbara Marie (Alliry) MacDonald, 68, of Athens, NY, formerly of Troy, NY passed away at 10:40AM in her home on Sunday morning June 21, 2015 surrounded by her caring family. Barbara was born in Troy, NY and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. The daughter of the late Josephine (Doyle) Alliry and Elmer Alliry, Barbara is survived by her daughter Heather of Athens, and son Walter of Albany, as well as her beautiful grandchildren Alexis and Xander, and daughter-in-law Ellen Donnelly. Mrs. MacDonald was retired from New York State Department of Corrections at Coxsackie Correctional Facility as a Correction Officer for over 27 years. Barbara enjoyed her gratifying career and was involved in many activities Employee Assistance Program and Local 1264 of Council 81 AFSME before it became NYSCOPBA. Barbara loved fireworks, her computer, and spending time with her grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4pm until 7pm on Saturday June 27th at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue, Troy.
