Obituary of Tyreek J. Prince
Troy, NY-
Tyreek J. Prince, 18, of Troy, was tragically taken from us and departed this life suddenly on May 31, 2015. He was just a few weeks shy of celebrating his 19th birthday.
Tyreek was born in Troy on June 22, 1996. He was a son of James L. Prince and Tiama L. Schultz. Tyreek as a lifelong resident of Troy and participated in local sports teams in his youth. He excelled in athletics and was associated with the Troy CYO Club and
the Troy Boys & Girls Club basketball leagues as well as pop warner football. Tyreek was bright, intelligent, a good student and was talented in many ways. He was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 2014.
Tyreek is sorely missed by his family and friends who warmly remember him for being a great son, loving brother, grandson, nephew and cousin as well as a "real true friend".
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents James L. Prince and Tiama L. Schultz, his younger brother, Taji Prince, his maternal grandmother Deborah Schultz, paternal grandfather James June, paternal great-grandmother Dorothy June, aunt Courtney Graves and uncles Neil Graves and Travis Schultz. A host of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Tyreek was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Janet Prince, paternal great-grandmother, Virgiree Prince, as well as an aunt, Thomasina Schultz.
Home going funeral service in celebration of Tyreek's life will be held on Friday, June 5, at 11:30AM at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 5th Avenue, Troy, NY 12180. Viewing hours will be at the church prior to the service from 9AM to 11:30AM.
