Obituary of Patricia Ann Goyer

Troy, NY- Patricia Ann Goyer, 77, of Troy, died at her home on Thursday morning, May 21, 2015 after battling lung cancer. Her loving family was by her side. Patricia was born in Troy on August 14, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Barrett) Kelley. She resided here her entire life and was a homemaker. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed entertaining relatives and friends in her home. Patricia was the loving mother of: Jacqueline A. Goyer, of Fort Myers, FL, Clarke O. Goyer, Jr. and Matthew J. Goyer, both of Troy, NY, cherished grandmother of: Shannon Goyer and Matthew Goyer, Jr., and beloved sister of: John Kelley; William (Jeanne) Kelley; Karen Barrett and Richard (Pamela) Kelley. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews; she touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. Besides her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband Clarke O. Goyer, Sr., whom she married on August 3, 1957 in Sacred Heart Church, Troy. He died in 2000. Patricia was also predeceased by her sister, Jeanne (Kelley) Peltier. The family wishes to acknowledge Rensselaer County Hospice for their care to Patricia during her illness. A special thank you to: Nadine, Colleen and Bree. Funeral Service will commence on Memorial Day Monday, May 25th, at 8:45AM from the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, thence to St. Augustine's Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM. Interment will follow in historic Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Patricia will be reposing in the chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home on Sunday evening May 24th. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends from 4PM until 7PM.
