Obituary of Robert Muniz
Lansingburgh-
Robert Muniz, 54, of Lansingburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 9, 2015 following a long battle against cancer. His loving family was by his side.
Robert was born on June 11, 1960 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Carmen Calero and the late Felipe Muniz. He was a longtime resident of Troy. Robert was an accomplished, self-employed carpenter and contractor. He was a hard worker and was very dedicated to his profession, which he built up based on "word-of-mouth" praise and referrals. He deeply valued his clients, who he went out of his way for to please in anyway possible.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, the former Margarita Garcia, whom he married in 1991 in Troy, his three sons; Jason Acuna, Anthony Acuna and Robert Miko Muniz, all of Troy, and his mother Carmen Calero Muniz of NYC.
Robert was the beloved grandfather of Kayde Acuna and Kaytiana Acuna, and the brother of Philip Muniz, of NYC, Ferando Muniz, of Albany, Edwin Muniz, of NYC, Connie Muniz, of Duanesburg, Arelis Vasquez, of NYC and Widelia Muniz, of Latham.
Besides his father, Robert was recently predeceased by his mother-in-law, Carmen Carde, who passed away last year in 2014.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday, May 16, at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (at the corner of 104th Street) in Lansingburgh, where a celebration of life service will be conducted that same evening at 6pm.
