Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Warren
East Greenbush-
Elizabeth "Betty" Warren, formerly of Hurlbut Street in Albany, NY was called home on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Rosewood Gardens in East Greenbush, surrounded by those who loved her. She was 83 years old.
Born in Albany, NY as Elizabeth Josephine Canabush on March 3, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Peter Canabush and Teresa Falzone Canabush of Albany.
Betty, as she was known by her friends and family, was a lifelong Albany resident. She resided in Albany's "Delaware Avenue Neighborhood" for many years until she moved to Rosewood Gardens. She was of the Roman Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish (Formerly the Church of St. James) in Albany.
Elizabeth married Michael Warren, of Albany, in 1951 and together they shared a union until his passing in the winter of 1990. Elizabeth faced the loss of many loved ones. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two children, her daughter Teresa Warren of Troy and a son, Bobby Warren of Albany, as well as the majority of her siblings, including: Alexander Canabush, Michael Canabush, Daniel Canabush, John Canabush, Charles Canabush and Josephine Canabush all of Albany. Betty was also predeceased by her own twin, a brother Angelo, who died at birth.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Warren of Troy, Grandchildren: Rhiannon Warren of Watervliet, Nicole Warren of Rensselaer and Jennifer Warren. Betty has two great grandchildren by her granddaughter Rhiannon: Dakota Rockenstire of Watervliet and James Otterbeck of Guilderland.
Her only surviving siblings include a sister, Anna White of Loudonville and a brother Peter Canabush of Albany. Several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many dear friends also survive.
Betty was a beautiful soul who touched many lives she will be greatly missed by many.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit for a period from 9AM until 10AM on Friday March 6th at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish (formerly St. James Church) 391 Delaware Avenue (corner of St. James Place) in Albany.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM in the church by the Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, in Glenmont, where Elizabeth will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of RIVERVIEW FUNERAL HOME, Inc.of Troy, NY.
