Obituary of Gerald R. Toomey

Gerald R. Toomey, 77, of Clifton Park, formerly of Albany, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 4 following a long illness, his family and friends by his side. Gerald was born in Albany, a son of the late James J. Toomey, Sr. and Anna M. (Yauch) Toomey. Gerald enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking as well as watching his all time favorite cooking channels. He also appreciated long walks and talking to family and friends. Gerald enjoyed his tea. When he was outside he watched the clouds pass by. Gerald shared a special bond with his mother and the two were very close when she was alive. Family was very important to Gerald. Gerald was a gentle man with a heart of gold and loved every one he met. He was a religious man and was always thinking of others, he prayed for everyone he knew. Gerald was loved by many and will be missed. A dear friend that he affectionately called his grandson, John Fusco, of Clifton Park, survives as well as another grandson Kenneth of Malone, NY. May he fly with the angels and be with the ones he loved so dearly, including his wife Mary who predeceased him. Memorial Service Arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.
