Obituary of Irene B. Rock

Troy- Irene B. Rock of Troy died on June 24, 2014, at the Hospice Inn @ St. Peter's Hospital in Albany following complications associated with heart disease. She was 63 years old. Daughter of the late John and Marion Sprackland, Irene was raised in Schodack, NY and for the last few years resided at the Hill Street Inn in Troy. Irene was an avid cyclist and was often seen riding in the city and on Sundays pedaling to St. Joseph's Church; she also joined friends at St. Nicholas Church, both in South Troy.Irene never forgot her farm upbringing and her love for flowers. She was a Troy-in-Bloom volunteer for a number of years. She is survived by four children, Jeffrey, Bradley, and David Rock, Jr., and Amanda Montgomery, As well as six grandchildren: Jordan, Madison, Isabella, and Jeffrey Rock and Warren and August Montgomery, Jr. Survived by siblings Marion Delong and John Sprackland, Jr. She will be missed by her friends Dede Sykes and Claire Davis and the residents of the Inn.
