Obituary of Antonia Parent
Troy
Antonia Parent, 60, of Douw Street, passed away on Wednesday, June 26th at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a long illness.
Born in Rota, Spain, Antonia has made Troy her home since 1972.
Antonia was a devoted mother and homemaker and volunteered her services with various organizations including the Salvation Army and Unity House.
She also taught classes in Spainish.
She loved doing things around the house.
One of her great passions was designing and creating Christmas ornaments.
Antonia was a great mom and will be sorely missed by all her family and friends, including her canine companions: Kilo and Kota.
She was aformer member of St. Patricks Church and later St. Anthony's Church in Troy, NY.
Antonia is survived by her four sons:
George A. Parent, Peter J. Parent, Michael W. Taylor, Jr. and Albert W. Taylor, all of Troy.
She is also survived by 4 sisters and 4 brothers living in Spain.
Antonia was grandmother to 14, soon to be 15 grandchildren, great grandmother to 4 as well as an aunt to several nieces and nephews and cousin to many.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday at 3 pm at The Riverview Funeral, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue at 104th Street with Pastor John Koletas of Grace Baptist Church Officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 PM.
