Obituary of Karen L. Taylor
Karen Adair-Taylor, 55, of Stuyvesant Falls, passed away September 29th with her family at her side at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 18th, 1957 the daughter of Thomas and Marion Adair.
Karen was the oldest of all her siblings, and was well loved, respected as a role model, and helped nourish each of them. Karen graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush, New York class of 1976. She enjoyed life to the fullest, never wasting a moment and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known as a mother to many, always baking, cooking and caring for others with an open door to her home. Karen was an incredible person and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild due in December. She also had a huge love for animals, adopting several homeless pets over the years. Karen was a fan of NASCAR and the NFL's Washington Red Skins. She also enjoyed cake decorating, crafting, camping, fishing, barbecuing, and gardening. She had such a love for the outdoors; she spent the last several years working for Keil's Pools in Stuyvesant.
Karen is preceded in death by her beloved brother Michael Adair of Menands. Survived by her cherished daughter Melissa Taylor-Logrippo, (Domenico Logrippo Jr.) and grandson soon to arrive Domenico Logrippo III. of Castleton, Good friend and High School sweet heart Glenn Taylor of Schodack Landing,
Parents Thomas & Marion Adair of East Greenbush. Siblings Mary & (Kevin) Fuerst of New Lebanon, Trish & (Jay) Ashley of Rensselaer, Alison and (Steve) Knapp of Rensselaer, and Joanne Adair of East Greenbush. Nieces and Nephews Nicole Knapp, Victoria Knapp, Matthew Knapp, John Ashley of Rensselaer.
A special Thank You from Karen's family to the staff at St. Peter's Hospice Inn and Dr. Morrissey's staff for the care and compassion she received.
Calling hours will be held at Holy Spirit Church in East Greenbush, Saturday October 6th beginning at 11:30am. The family will be there until 1:30pm to greet relatives and friends. Holy Spirit is located at 667 Columbia Turnpike East Greenbush, NY 12061.
