Obituary of Lester A. Keller

Lester A. Keller, 90, of Niskayuna died June 17 at home. Born in Budapest, Hungary, Mr. Keller came to the U.S. in 1923. He was reared and educated in New York City. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in Europe. For most of his career, he was a clinical psychotherapist and social worker in New York City, Newport, VT. and Albany,N.Y. He most recently was employed by New York State Office for the Mental Retardation & Developmentally Disabled. He was predeceased by his parents Lester and Regina; and his sister, Louise. Lester was a well-known raconteur and a multi-skilled craftsman He touched all who knew him with love and humor. Survivors include his devoted wife, Kay; two sons, Lester Keller of Wichita, Kan., and Christopher (Diana) of Voorheesville, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition, he leaves his two loving feline companions, Cooper and Tula, as well as numerous two-legged friends. There will be no services. A gathering for friends and family is being planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation in Scotia, N.Y.; or the Bethesda House, Schenectady, N.Y.
