My condolences to Emily's family. Emily worked many years on 11p- 7am shift at St. Peters. She was a role model for all of us. How blessed I feel to have had her mentoring. We have laughed over so many Emily stories. My favorite being toddler Kenny putting Green Stamps on dozing Mom (Emily)! Oh the joy she brought! We all heard of Emily's family - she loved you all and was so proud of you. Treasure your memories of this truly special woman. We are all better people for having her in our lives.

Grandma, I'm not sure if I will ever be able to express in words how much you meant to me. Your love was unconditional and your soul was one in a million. I only hope that I can one day be half the woman you were. You truly made everything sweet in this world. *Katie

Auntie Em: So many memories, so many good times! The Miller siblings loved music and loved to sing. Uncle Vernon, the oldest; then my mother, Irene; and you and Aunt Elsie - folk songs, country songs, old-timey songs - guitars and harmonicas galore. Although I was only 4 or 5-years old, I remember one of your favorites was "Red River Valley". As I recall the words, it seems so appropriate to repeat them as a fitting tribute to an iconic auntie who was loved so much. From this valley they say you are going. We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile, For they say you are taking the sunshine That has brightened our pathway a while." Your nephew, Gene

Emily-I was a brand new nurse when I started working with you at SPH. I learned so much from you. Not what they taught you in the textbooks, but the wisdom and how to develope the intuition in caring for our patients. I always enjoyed hearing your stories, especially those of you children and then your grandchildren. The greenstamp story was always the best and we still bring that up and have a good laugh. I was lucky to have met a couple of you children. To your husband and your children and grandchildren, please accept my condolences in the passing of your wife and mom. Emily was a wonderful person and a nurse that I always looked up to. You are in my prayers.

Mom-you gave me strength that I thought I would never have, taught me wisdom that could never come from a book and showed me how to love and cherish my children without end or boundry. You were there for so many, without hesitation. Your heart of gold will live on forever in those of us who knew and loved you so very much. I am forever greatful for all the goodness within that made you who you were. You will live on in my heart always. ~Sandra

My Dear Mom, You have always taught me how to make the simple things so special. You have always shown me the power of a smile and the strength of a hug. You have helped me to find my own way in this world without losing track of where I came from. Thank you for loving me. You will forever be a huge part of my heart.

Emily, No one could ask for a more genuine welcome to the family then was offered to me by you and Uncle Dick. Your nephew, Gene, and I started our life together in 1966 and you were forever like a big sister, surrogate mother-in-law, friend and inspiration. Your sister (Gene's mother, Irene), would have been so pleased to know he had 'family' always there for him and for her beloved, Joe. We shared a lot of backyard festivities, Christmas dinners, graduations and concerts with eight kids between us. We swapped plants and photos, thoughtful gifts and memories galore (I'll never forget that 'round-tuit' - and I am still needing it). Rest in peace dear aunt and know that you have always been, and always will be, a treasure within the Parzek family.

"So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin. Open up your heart and let the sun shine in." Grandma, I'll think of you whenever I watch a summer storm come in, and when I count the seconds between the lightning and thunder, I know you'll be right there with me. I will always love you!
