Obituary of Madeline G. Phillips
Madeline G. Phillips, 85 of Saratoga Springs, NY died on Thursday, February 9 at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness.
Madeline was born in Saratoga Springs and was a lifelong resident except for a twelve year period when she and her late husband Gene A. Phillips, lived in Winterhaven, FL, he died in March of 1994.
Madeline graduated High School and then went on to Beautician School.
In her youth she worked at DeMartino's Restaurant and then later
at ESPEY Manufacturing and finally at Jamesway Deptartment Stores where she was a Department Manager before retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Saratoga Springs.
She was a former member of the Italian American Club and the Saratoga Springs Republican Club where she worked on Gov. Malcolm Wilson's campaign.
Madeline will be remembered as a very loving and caring person whose family was most important to her.
She was always ready to lend a hand and help anyone in need.
She is survived by her son, Gene A. Phillips of Schenectady as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by 5 siblings.
A Litughy of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter's Church in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Interment followed at St. Peter's Cemetery in Saratoga Springs.
