Obituary of Francis R. Jerard

Francis R. Jerard, Jr., died on Thursday afternoon, January 12th, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness, he was 59 years old. Francis was born in Troy, NY and was a lifelong area resident. Francis had many careers during his lifetime. They included working for: Sage Maintenance, Terry Haggerty Tire Co., Materials Recovery as well as in the construction field where he was employed as a mason for A.V. Marini & Sons. Frank was a US Army veteran serving from 1969 to 1973. He was a member of the Crab Club in Troy and the Painter's Union. Frank will always be remembered for "his special way" of greeting you with optimism and leaving you laughing! He possessed a great wit and personality. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and as Frank would say: "Keep on fight'n and Man-Up"! He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Terry A. Galligan Jerard whom he married on July 16, 1995. His parents: Francis R. Jerard, Sr. of Schenectady and Virginia Coty of Cohoes. Two children: Francis R. (Tammy) Jerard, III of Colonie and Stephanie A. Jerard (Bill) Malone of East Greenbush. He also leaves behind his siblings: Richard Jerard of Florida, John Jerard of Malta, Michael Jerard of Cohoes, Ginger Jerard of Troy, Thomas Jerard of Wisconsin and Mark and Scott Jerard both of Schenectady. He was loving grandfather of: Breanna and Billy Malone of East Greenbush, Taylor Curley and Madison Jerard both of Colonie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends among whom are included "good friends" James Pollock and Bill Sage. Frank's family will receive guests at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue in Troy on Sunday, January 22nd from 1 to 3 PM. Immediately following everyone is invited back to the family residence at 156 President Street, 2nd Floor, Troy, for a period of fellowship and remembrance. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make a contribution in care of the family to assist in defraying funeral expenses.
