Obituary of Mary Bogan de Belmonte
Mary Bogan de Belmonte passed away peacefully, embraced by her husband, on Saturday, July 23, 2011.
Born in Clinton, NY, she is the daughter of the late Ed and Eileen Bogan. Mary is survived by her husband Roberto Belmonte, sisters Patrice Bogan and Elizabeth (David) Eaton, brothers Tom(Deborah), Jerry (Nancy), Jim (Heather) and John Bogan. She is also survived by many uncles and aunts, cousins, and several nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of caring friends.
Mary retired from the NYS Department of Correctional Services after dedicating 29 years, and serving the last four years as Assistant Commissioner for Program Services. She graduated from Clinton Senior High School and the State University of NY at Brockport, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Social science and later her MSW degree. Mary served in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua and she was an active and participative member of the Association of Women in Corrections.
Through her many roles in her work, and in her personal life, Mary had been an inspirational mentor and life coach for many people. She was fully committed to the exploration of living life to the fullest and won the hearts of those that she came in contact with along the way. She loved to travel and meet people of all walks of life.
Her life will be celebrated August 2nd. 2011 at 11:00 AM in a Mass held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY 12054. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, 5th Floor. Your kindness, love and support will forever be remembered. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice on behalf of Mary would be appreciated.
