Obituary of Elizabeth D. Van Tine
LANSINGBURGH –
Mrs. Elizabeth D. (Reed) Van Tine, 91, of Lansingburgh, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023.
The former Miss Elizabeth D. Reed, of Rensselaer, affectionally known as “Betty” by family and friends. She was born on March 3, 1932 to the late Arthur Leo Reed, Sr. and Mary (Green) Reed of Rensselaer. Betty was raised and educated in Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer High School.
She married Mr. Kenneth J. Van Tine of Troy on May 6, 1951. That union lasted 60 years until his passing in 2011. For her entire life, Betty was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother.
Survivors include her only son, Kenneth J. Van Tine, Jr. (Lauretta), her only granddaughter, Krystal Marie Lambombard, one sister-in-law, Joan Gray and two nephews; Stephen Gray and Eugene Van Tine III.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her in-laws: Eugene, Sr. and Gertrude (Bidwell) Van Tine, her 5 brothers: Arthur, Jr., William, John, James and Robert Reed and her two sisters: Dorothy Compton and Marion Hart. Betty was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Eugene Van Tine, Jr.
Relatives and Friends may visit with Betty’s Family and call from 10AM until 12PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in The Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180. A Memorial Service will commence at 12 Noon in the funeral home with interment following in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
