Obituary of Theodora Marie Garmley
TROY –
Theodora Marie Garmley, 70, of Troy, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024.
The daughter of the late Theodore and Irene St. John, Theodora was born on April 24, 1953 in Troy, New York. She attended local schools and resided in Troy for the majority of her life. For a brief time Theodora resided in Champlain, Vermont before returning to Troy.
As a dedicated wife and mother, Theodora was a caring homemaker for her family. She was of the Catholic Faith. Family and friends will warmly remember her as possessing a sense of humor being a practical jokester, but above all very loving.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George D. Garmley, Jr. whom she married in Troy over 22 years ago in 2002, but has been her life partner for a total of 54 years.
Theodora was a loving mother to her children: Candy Sharp, Todd, Louis and Heath Chaplin, a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren: Joshua (Matia) Dunn, Irene (Joshua) Sharp, Chelsea (Michael) Sharp, Richard Sharp III and Chase Merrills. Dearest sister of Chip, Paula, Peter, Michael, Donnie and Doris. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Theodore was predeceased by her sister Rita and brother-in-law, Richard Sharp. She now joins her departed loved ones in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Funeral Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Riverview Funeral Home, Inc.
