Obituary of Korey M. Collins
Schenectady, NY-
Korey M (Kippy) Collins, 60, entered into eternal peace after a long illness on March 31st 2016.
Kippy was born in Albany, NY on March 5, 1956 to Kolleen Brimberry and Robert Collins. He graduated from Linton High School and later studied Culinary Arts at Schenectady Community College. He had a longtime career in sales. Kippy had a passion for music, was an avid collector of comic books, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and pyrotechnics. He spent many years playing African drums with Umoja of the Hamilton Hill Arts Center.
Kippy was predeceased by his parents, Kolleen and Robert and his sister Rory (Bunny). He is survived by his sisters Andrea (DeeDee) and Rona (Pepe) and his brother Adam. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Kathy; the 5 children of that union-Khara, Korey (Stacey), Kolleen, Khristian, and Kelsey (Porsha); 11 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and "adopted" family. His children and his grandchildren were his greatest accomplishment and joy.
The Collins Family would like to extend gratitude to the staff of Ellis Hospital ICU, A5, Hospice and especially Dr. Thomas Schumacher for their exemplary care during this difficult time.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 5th, between the hours of 4 -7 p.m., at the Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue (corner of Broadway) in Schenectady. Funeral service will immediately follow.
