So sad to hear of Gerry's passing. He was a true Gentleman and a fine Marine. Gerry served on my staff and I on his as we seemed to pass the Commandant position back and forth with Tim Forbes. If not for Gerry, the Troy Detachment would not be what it is today. He was well respected and I am honored to call him my friend and brother. You will be missed Marine.

The Marine Corps League family is saddened by Gerry's passing. He was a Marine, first and formost. Family, friends and fellow veterans were what he cared about most. Oh, and don't forget the Boston Red Socks or any team playing the Yankees either. He was a leader that stood out and one of the first to volunteer for the jobs no one else wanted. The Troy Detachment has a big void to fill and someone to remember fondly for all he did. semper fi

I am sorry that we were never able to meet, we share the same Grandfather Louis LaBarge, whom we both never knew. My family lives in Southern California, Grandfather Louis LaBarge moved from Mass. to the Ivanhoe area of Tulare County in California, where he purchased a small piece of land (12 acres) and grew Oranges and Grapes. I have been in contact with Kevin LaBarge of Mass, who's father was your brother. I tried reaching out to you in the past, sent letters and telephoned leaving messages. To no avail.
