I represented David in a case that went to the Court of Appeals on a very technical and very important issue for teachers in New York and having to do with teacher certification. (See http://www.law.cornell.edu/nyctap/I92_0004.htm) David was caught in a situation beyond his control. His participation in that case did advance the cause of teacher rights in New York State. I found David to be a gentle and thoughtful man. We spoke on occasion for years after the conclusion of the case. I was very glad when he obtained the position at Lowe's. I am saddened at his death - especially at his age. I send my sincere sympathy to his family on this loss.

My wife and I were good friends with Bill and Ann back in high school. We both knew Dave and visited their childhood home. Like most, we took different paths in life and contact pretty much faded away. One thing that did not go away is the memory of friends. Our condolences to all Dave's family.

I remember the boat that Mr. Winter built in Kingston. It was beautiful. Dave & Bill would have the boat down at the Point & one summer afternoon, I got a ride from Dave in the boat. That was a fun memory. I'd like to express my sadness to Dave's family at the loss of their father & husband. It's a very tough time for his loved ones. Know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all.
