Obituary of David J. Winter
David J. Winter, 65, passed away January 5, 2010, from cancer at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany NY. Born in Kingston NY on June 8, 1944, he was the son of the late William and Dolores Winter.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet Klimacek Winter, and two sons, J. Lonny Winter of Rensselaer NY and D. Scott Winter of Glenmont NY.
He is also leaves a brother, Bill, and his wife Ann of Exeter NH as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dave was a graduate of Kingston High School, Ulster County Community College, and The University at Albany.
He was a teacher at Rhinebeck Central High School for many years and was also employed as a computer teacher at Marcy Correctional Facility in Marcy NY. After retiring from teaching, Dave was employed at Lowe's in Glenmont.
He also taught driver education during the summer at various high schools in the Albany area.
He enjoyed camping and hiking at Lake George and picnics at Saratoga and Bolton Landing.
Dave also spent many days in Little Falls NY
At Dave's request, there will be no funeral services.
He will be deeply missed by those who love him.
